The campsite is situated on the southern slope of a wooded hill that borders the Belgian Ardennes. It is an exciting countryside, with hills and streams interspersed with quaint little towns and villages full of things to do and see.
The campsite is 10 hectares in size and offers tourists yearly camping pitches and rental accommodation. Pitches and accommodations are spread across a large piece of land, with camping fields interspersed with wooded areas. There is plenty of space for contemplation in nature, as well as sports and adventure.
You can bring your camping gear, such as a tent or caravan, or you can rent a place to stay. The camping areas are spread across several fields, and you can even camp in the woods. Log cabins, mobile homes, and Norwegian cottages are available for rent all year. You will have more options if you come with a larger group of people.
If you intend to stay for an extended period of time, you can rent accommodation on a seasonal basis. These pitches are distributed across four different sites that are distinct from short-term pitches. They are well-equipped and well-liked.
Mobile homes are all equipped with a spacious living room area with an open kitchen, two bedrooms and all comfortable amenities. In six of the seven caravans, there is a shower cubicle, a sink and a toilet. The seventh one has a toilet and a sink with running hot water, but no shower cubicle.
The campsite has an outdoor heated swimming pool. It is open from the first of July until the end of August, weather permitting. The larger pool is 16metre by 8m and is 0,8m to 1,40 metres deep. There is also a small pool just for children measuring 4m by 4m and 0,40m deep.
During the summer, the entertainment team organises an evening walk that is open to everyone, adults, children, and even children in strollers.
Moreover, the tourist offices in Rochefort and Wellin have marked approximately 30 walks, many of which begin near the church or the tourist office of the local village. You can walk several laps where they intersect. This allows for walks ranging from 3 to 12 kilometres. Trail maps with detailed descriptions are available for purchase at reception.
During the mid and high seasons, the snack bar, also known as "La Cafet," is open for snacks, and drinks, as a meeting place during activities, or to play pool. During the low season, the canteen is available for group reservations. The playground, which is open to children up to the age of 12, is not far from the terrace of “La Cafet.”
A small shop with a variety of products is available on-site. During the high season, it is open every morning and afternoon; during the low season, some items are moved to the reception desk, and/or the shop may be open upon request during the reception's opening hours. The shop offers an increasing range of organic products. You will also find a small range of fresh vegetables, milk products, canned food, beverages (large bottles, cans, wines...), toiletry and camping articles, toys, sweets, etc.
The small village of Ave lies at the foot of Le Roptai’s hill. The hamlet of Auffe is 2 km away. On Ave you can sit on the terrace of the local café, the quaint little church… The small village of Ave is 1km away from the campsite, so it is a nice destination for a first walk around to get a feel of the area!
The small village of Belvaux is ideally located along the river Lesse, a bit more than 4 km from the campsite. Several nice walks start from Belvaux. There is also a well-known fine cuisine restaurant and not far away the mount of Ermitage where it is still possible to see the ruins left by the Earl Edmond d’Hoffschmidt (1777-1861)
Lavaux-Ste-Anne
The small village of Lavaux-Ste-Anne is 6 km away from Le Roptai. It is known for its castle, which started being built in the 13th century. The castle has three museums: one about the life of the aristocracy, one about rural life in Famenne, and a museum about the natural environment. Right nearby there is a wetland with marshes, and grassland with a lot to see in just a 30-minute tour.
On JetCamp you book directly with the accommodation or operator. The prices and conditions (down payment, change, cancellation) for booking a pitch, mobile home, or other accommodation may vary per accommodation. The rates fluctuate every year and are, of course, lower in the low season than in the high season.
