1. Algodonales, Andalusia

Algodonales is one of the best flying areas in Southern Spain, as well as one of the most popular in Europe, especially during the autumn and winter months when the weather is still pleasant. Algodonales, a charming village at the foot of the Sierra de Lijar mountain, benefits from a cross breeze from both the Atlantic and Mediterranean. Even for pilots who are looking for their first cross-country flight, it is a great thermal site with good cross-country potential. It's a very simple location with plenty of landing areas.

Alannia Costa Blanca benefits from beautiful weather all year round and provides a high-quality vacation stay with comfortable and contemporary accommodations, a swimming pool, and other holiday essentials.

3. Ager, Catalonia

In Àger, one thing is certain: there will be sunshine. Ager is the home of cross-country paragliding because of the consistent flying conditions. You can enjoy the scenic beauty of Ager while flying like a bird with the Pyrenees in the background. Ager offers you a bird’s eye view of lakes, valleys, plains, and rocky lands. You may also be accompanied by vultures, which is a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

4. El Bosque, Cadiz

This is the most common substitute for Algodonales. It takes a westerly, just like Poniente on Lijar, but it's more sheltered, so it'll be flyable when Lijar's wind is too strong. It's a lovely wooded location from which you can fly eastwards back to Algo. At the far end, rock faces are home to large vultures, which will show you where to turn when it’s on. Even if Algo is working, consider starting from El Bosque and flying to Algo to add 10-15km to your XC total.

Camping Pueblo Blanco is located near Olvera, one of the most beautiful cities in Spain, which beckons for leisurely strolling around.

5. Teide National Park, Las Palmas

Flying over Teide National Park is a great way to get an adrenaline rush. This is one of the best places to paraglide in Spain because it has the highest takeoff point in the country at 2,200 metres. Jumping from that height and touching the ground will undoubtedly be an unforgettable experience. Glide over the picturesque La Orotava Gorge and the lovely town of Puerto de la Cruz. The summer season, which runs from April to October, is the best time to visit Teide National Park for paragliding.

Camping Nauta is a great place to stay near the beach, and the climate allows camping all year round.

6. Matalascanas beach, Huelva

It's one of the best places to go paragliding on the coast. From Matalascanas to Mazagon, along the coast of Huelva in southern Spain, there is a 20-kilometre cliff where you can paraglide for hours on end on a gentle dynamic lift. A pilot can technically complete a 40-kilometre flight with just one turn point. The sea, the sea breeze, and the beach provide a sensory feast.

Kitesurfing combines the thrills of flight with the thrills of watersports. For kitesurfing inspiration in Spain, check out the Top 10 best kitesurfing destinations in Spain.

Huttopia Parque de Doñana set in a shaded wooden area offers mobile home and glamping rentals, and camping pitches. The shade of pine trees and a dip in the swimming pool ensure a relaxing atmosphere.

7. Teba, Malaga

Have you ever flown into a city? You may do it right here: the takeoff point is right at the end of the street. This location is great for novices; they may do several top-to-bottom flights because the drive to the takeoff area from the landing area takes only five minutes, and the landing field is vast.

It is also a fantastic area for soaring. However, be cautious if you fly extremely high because there are some large jets on their way to Málaga airport.

Camping Cabopino is a family-friendly campsite on the beach that is approximately 46 kilometres from Malaga's cultural attractions and activities.

8. Lucena, Cordoba

When the "levante" wind becomes too strong to fly in Algodonales, paragliders travel to Lucena , where the wind is usually lighter.

This is an excellent location for students since there is a solid landing field and a lovely road to the top, allowing for rapid rotations and a large number of flights.

However, with 200 km of the flying zone, it is an excellent location for cross-country paragliding.

Stay at Camping Los Villares-Sierra de Córdoba to take advantage of the lovely winds. The campsite also serves as a launching point for mountain biking trails. Check out the Top 25 mountain bike spots in Europa for additional suggestions.

9. Vejer de la Frontera, Cadiz

A fantastic location for a soaring fly above one of Andalusia's most stunning white towns in front of the Atlantic. Cosmopolitan and yet steeped in history, it's easy to see why busy Vejer is known as the "Jewel in the Crown" of the white villages of western Andalusia. It was designated a Historic-Artistic Complex in 1976, and it received the 1st National Prize for Town Beautification in 1978, as well as the distinction of being a Great Tourist Influx Area. It's also close to the natural beaches of Conil and Caños de Meca.

The closest campsite is Camping Vejer. Camping Vejer, located close to the Breña y Marismas de Barbate Natural Park in Vejer de la Frontera, Cádiz, promises considerable shade throughout its area and adequate shelter from the easterly wind. Canoeing on the river is available at the park.

Gliding is best done early in the morning or late in the evening. During the day, conditions are frequently too severe for paragliding.
