With Turkey vs Italy the 16th European Championship will kick off on June 12th in Rome. Twenty teams are known, four will qualify via the (new) play-offs on March 26 and March 31 2020. Now that the full schedule is known all focus will be on group F which includes Germany, France and Portugal! The group-of-death for sure! Other interesting groups? Sure! England will play Croatia and Czech Republic, while Italy will face Turkey, Wales and Switzerland.
Who'll play in Rome, who in Baku and who in Sint Petersburg? In this blog we'll give you an overview of who-plays-where and which camping are close to the stadiums. If there's going to be another Orange camping (for the Dutchies!)...we'll let you know here!
To celebrate the 60th anniversary of UEFA, the 16th European Championship will not be played in 1 or 2 host countries, but in 12 cities across as many European countries. The start is on June 12 at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome and the final on until July 12, 2020 at Wembley Stadium in London.
These are the 12 cities in alphabetical order: Amsterdam (the Netherlands, Johan Cruijff ArenA), Baku (Azerbaijan, Olympic Stadium), Bilbao (Spain, San Mamés), Bucharest (Romania, Arena Națională), Budapest (Hungary, Ferenc Puskásstadion), Copenhagen (Denmark, Parks), Dublin (Ireland, Avivastadion), Glasgow (Scotland, Hampden Park), London (England, Wembley Stadium), Munich (Germany, Allianz Arena), Rome (Italy, Stadio Olimpico) and St. Petersburg ( Russia, Krestovsky Stadium).
Group games and 8th finals will be played in Amsterdam, Bilbao, Bucharest, Budapest, Copenhagen, Dublin, Glasgow and London. In Baku, Munich, St. Petersburg and Rome group matches and quarter-finals. The two semi-finals and the final are played at the Wembley Stadium in London.
24 countries will compete for the championship. The game schedules of 20 of the 24 countries are known. In the (new) play-offs, the last 4 places will be competed. These will take place on March 26 and March 31, 2020.
