According to a recent article in the Guardian, the global number of digital nomads will exceed 40 million this year and may even rise to around 60 million by 2030. Add to that the number of people who regularly take workcations, employees that are allowed to choose where they work from (e.g. Spotify) and an army of entrepreneurs, freelancers and IT specialists who are online 24/24 and that number could easily rise to 70 or even 80 million.
Fast-tracked by Covid campsites across Europe have come to realize that their product is probably the best remote workspace for this digital community. Campsite facilities already include restaurants, bars, swimming pools, bike rental, Wi-Fi and laundry services which come in handy while working and being on the road at the same time. Add safety and a communal feeling to the equation and campsites might just be the next cowork champions.
