Dutch TV hit show 'I depart' has been following Dutch families for 20 seasons (since 2005) who go abroad to realize their dream (a campsite, a BenB or hotel). More than 130 families mainly left for France, Sweden, Spain, Italy and Central Europe. A large number started or took over a campsite and stayed. Due to its central location, Vista San Vicino is a perfect base for a holiday full of nature and culture. The campsite rents out safari tents, glamping tents and apartments. Mike and Maayke van Houtum have bought a finca in Triana, Spain, far away from civilization. The 1-hectare mango plantation is located approximately 13 km from the sea and is a wonderful place to watch their daughters Linne and Jolien grow up. The goal is to live self-sufficiently, and renting out apartments and a camper will of course help

Wijnand Lemmers and Nienke Olligschläger have really moved everything to Spain. Of course, daughter Eisa and son Lucas came along. But in addition, 2 dogs, an iguana, 2 chinchillas, two goats, two horses and two pigs also went on a journey of almost 2000 kilometers to Arenas de San Pedro. This small village is approximately 1.5 hours drive from Madrid. Here the family has transformed an olive grove of approximately 3.5 hectares into an ecological holiday park with wooden houses (self-built), a mini campsite and its own vegetable garden.

Friends Jana de Vries and Trudy Van Der Helm are living their dream: transforming a former hunting castle into a B&B and mini-campsite. At the simple, but very attractive orchard campsite you will find picnic tables, a swing, a sandbox and a fire bowl to make the evening extra cozy. Something more luxurious? There is also a gite and in the main house there are several renovated rooms.

The beautifully clear river The Lot is at walking distance and the surroundings are perfect for biking trips and hikes. Nearby Figeac is a thriving medieval town, visit on Saturday to buy wine and cheese on the weekly market.
