Markets in Lazio

Markets can give you a true experience of Italian day-to-day life. Farmers, cheese makers, olive oil producers, and fishermen all join together in the daily markets across the region. Locals like to come to the weekly local market to taste, smile, haggle, and socialize. The abundant sunshine ensures rich tastes in the fruits and vegetables. Take your time (but do not go too late as the best things sell out first) and enjoy the intense colours and flavours!

You have to wade through a lot of junk to find the good stuff at this sprawling, super-crowded flea market in Trastevere. With more and more stalls selling new, cheap clothes and souvenirs, used housewares, antiques, vinyl, and many other things. However, prepare for a swarm of people and watch your purse or wallet here. It is open on Sundays from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m.
