Pop-up camping

Will pop-up campsites will be as popular in 2023 as they were in 2021 and 2022? The first pop-ups in the Netherlands and Sweden (new) have already been announced. In this blog we keep track of all initiatives in the Netherlands, Belgium, France and England. It is fairly certain that most pop-up campsites will return in 2023. Tijdloos, Pampus, Summer Camp Toverland, Green Fields, East Nomads, For-rest, de Camphanen, Kallumaan, Camping Kontakt and Embers have shown that you don't necessarily have to go to Ibiza for hip music, good food and cool vibes. If you have ever attended a festival or large event, you will recognize the tents, yurts and mobile homes. Local food trucks are often invited for the catering or the pop ups have started local cooperations witk (catering) entrepreneurs. Enjoy a pop-up camping holiday in 2023 in a beautiful forest area in Overijssel, by the sea in North Holland, in the hills of the Ardennes or simply on an uninhabited island near Amsterdam. Laguna Beach Family Camps is a camping concept from the Jongens uit Schoorl. In 2020 they started a pop-up surfing village with glamping tents in Schoorl. In the summer of 2023 you can find their Laguna Beach Family Camps in Uitgeest and in Mörbylånga in Sweden. At Familycamp Corfwater - Laguna Beach Family Camps 3-6p safari tents are rented out. In Sweden at Family Camp Öland - Laguna Beach Family Camps only safari tents and bell tents. The camps are located on or near the sea, each with a nice beach bar nearby. Of course, all activities are included again and you can enjoy surfing, swimming and paddleboarding.

25° Noord is a "production" of three creatives from the festival and event industry. The link with theater and sets is therefore never far away at Wildevier. The Drentse Boscamping is for people who are looking for some conviviality in a beautiful natural environment. Don't think of luxury, but basic amenities, with a few good extras. So let yourself be surprised with music around a campfire, fresh bread for your tent or a book from the small but nice selection of literature.

Netl Camping Kallumaan in Kraggenburg will be set up near Lemmer, Sneek, Urk, Giethoorn and Schokland. A temporary village in nature, with small beaches nearby and many creative activities. 2-6 person safari tents, huts and bungalow tents with hip names such as The Who, Elvis & the Queen, Flores and Awaji are placed on a beautiful part of the Netl de Wildste Tuin nature playground. From your bed you can easily walk to a beach for a swim and light a nice fire next to the tent in the evening.

Ditch jumping, farmer's golf, canoe trip, go-karting, hide and seek in the haystack, that is camping at a pop-up farm campsite. From July 4, entrepreneurs Hans and Jan-Willem will open a pop-up campsite with 50 pitches spread over several fenced fields. With your feet in the mud, making a campfire and waking up between the goats, sheep, etc. Of course all camping facilities such as showers and toilets are available. The car-free Camping de Boerinn is aimed at families with kids and if parents want to work, flexible workspaces (WiFi / coffee) have been set up.

This summer you can camp exclusively on the uninhabited island of Pampus. Pampus Camp Nights is a pop-up camping and is part of a crowdfunding campaign to make the fort island (UNESCO world heritage) self-sufficient and contribute to their energy transition. The campsite has been set up with the help of, among others, BlueCAMP, a producer of tents made from recycled jeans. On the "military" island (part of the Defense Line of Amsterdam) you can camp with your own tent, but you can also rent a tent from BlueCAMP. Take a quick look at their website for special packages with excursions and dinner options, including the veggie BBQ.

Your own luxury place in the middle of nature, with lots of peace and yet close to home. That is Camping East Nomads , a pop-up campsite in Aalten in the Achterhoek (Gelderland). The organizers (originally from the festival industry) want you to enjoy yourself in style and this includes, in addition to fully furnished accommodations, cooking sessions from, among others, top chef Ron Blaauw. This unique camping experience in the middle of the beautiful nature of the Achterhoek (think of forests and rolling hills) has a daily activity program and plenty of space for ..... peace. You can eat and drink at the campsite or nearby, so super-local. There are also fully arranged packages during one of the special theme weeks. The tents are well equipped with a spacious place with their own sanitary facilities, spacious beds and seating with relaxation chairs. You are welcome from May 21st to September 5th!

Camping Hemels in Volkel is a family campsite where parents can have a carefree holiday while the children (and of course the parents) experience many fun things.

The campsite is located on one of the nicest play parks in Brabant, BillyBird Park Hemelrijk. This play park has several great outdoor play areas, a large indoor playground, and several other attractions. Since 2020, Hemelrijk has the largest AquaFunPark in the Netherlands! Beach bar Hemels is ready for you with delicious breakfasts, lunches, and dinners.

Bring your own tent, camper, or caravan, or rent one of the luxury glamping tents. You can choose from tent De Melchior (4p), De Melchior & De Caspar (4p +2 children) and De Balthasar (6P).

Since 2021 Buitenplaats Kameryck has its own pop-up campsite! Buitenplaats Kameryck is fun for all ages, children will love the petting zoo and paddling pool. For older guests, there is the Pitch & Putt and foot golf course, but of course, they can also enjoy cycling and walking through the Green Heart.

Restaurant 't Ryck is ideal for lunch, drinks, and dinner. While you eat you also have a beautiful view over the water. You can also get delicious baked rolls, croissants, and other products for a nice breakfast in the morning.

Every year in August, the festival A Campingflight to Lowlands Paradise, or Lowlands, takes place in Biddinghuizen. You can enjoy music, theater, film, and comedy for 3 days. You can see more than 250 acts and performances on no less than 12 stages.

Only during the event, you can stay the night at Gllamcamp, so you won't have to miss a moment of the festival. Build your own tent or rent one of the accommodations. There are different camping fields with different degrees of luxury. At camping field 'Festival Camping' you go back to basics and sleep in your own tent, but at camping field 'Gllamcamp Delluxe' you can expect more luxury. Choose from one of the accommodations with excellent beds and bedding, electricity, wellness, and its own luxurious bathhouse. You can also use the chill-out luxury bar, breakfast club, and fire pit!

Sleeping in one of the two safari roof tents, waking up to the smell of a tasty Nespresso. Musing about last night's campfire and BBQ. Bonheiden is justifiably unique. Everything is ready on arrival and you can enjoy simplicity-with-a-bit-luxury on the edge of the meadow for a weekend, midweek or longer. One 2p. roof tent is 2m above the ground on a platform that can be reached via a ladder. Roof tent two is on a baggage car where a 3rd person can sleep with a large relaxing tent next to it. Unfortunately not suitable for children! For shopping and / or a cultural trip, Mechelen (10min), Leuven (20min) and Brussels (30min) are close by.

Begluk is what you can rightly call a pop-up camping, but then a mini pop-up. Klare Naert from Zerkegem rents tents for your backyard, at a campsite, at a marina, on a piece of land or in your friends backyard. And not only rental, the tents are furnished tip-top with made-up beds, atmospheric lighting, a fire bowl, pillows and a so-called low-dinner table. So get ready for a wonderful staycation this summer. If you don't have a place yourself, Klamping has beautiful spots at the foot of the Koekelareberg on a farm with its own sheep. The tents are equipped with a small BBQ, double gas stove, kitchen utensils and crockery. You can also rent a "fun package" that includes petanque, beach tennis and giant mikado. The tents are standard for two people, extra beds can be rented.

The organizers of Dinner on the Lake and the new The Floating Table concept are also launching a real glamping this year: Glamp and Dine . At a beautiful location in Averbode you can stay in a nice 2-person tipi tent. During the staycation you can enjoy walking and cycling (the glamping provides a brochure with walking and cycling routes) and other activities are also organized. During your stay in this pop-up campsite, you will wake up to birds singing and a nice breakfast will be served.

You can book this unique sleeping place in combination with The Floating Table or without dinner. Breakfast is included.

Pop-up camping Green Fields is a magical glamping experience from early July to late August. From the makers of Tomorrowland, Adventure Valley and Dreamville in the middle of the beautiful Ardennes near Durbuy. A site located next to the 18-hole Five Nations Golf Club will be transformed this summer into pop-up camping Green Fields. Do you want to be enchanted this summer with good food (breakfast from top chef Wout Bru and various Tastes of the World concepts), entertainment and music (see the DJ Line-up)? Do you want to take a dip in the nice swimming pool, laze in the sun and end the day with a nice drink in the pool bar? Then come to pop-up glamping Green fields 5km from Adventure Valley Durbuy. 8 different 2-4p type accommodations with equally special names as decor such as the Experimental Room, Dreamlodge and Kokono are waiting for you.

Eselberg is a pop-up camping located just outside Henley, within the Henley Estate and overlooking the River Thames. You can watch the university and school rowing boats teams practice while enjoying an ice cream or drink at the container bar. The riverside camping has top views of Temple Island which is within walking distance. The bell tents are spread around the estate. The car-free pitches are complemented with a fire basket and there are central sanitary facilities (flushing toilets, hot showers, bring own towels) at the edge of the field. The on-site cafe/shop is trendy refurb sea-container. Get yourself an espresso in the morning and one on the best ice creams in the afternoon. During summer evenings, nothing beats good company and a wood-fired pizza which can be pre-ordered. There's plenty to see and do in and around Henley. Sports activities include walking, rowing and cycling. The renowned Summer festivals (Henley River Regatta, Re-Wind Festival) are all within easy walking distance. Or visit the River & Rowing Museum which specialises in the sport of rowing and the history of Henley on Thames.

Kantnig is located near Le Mans (also handy for the car race) and is a special, authentic five-star camping in the Sarthe. The 21 hectare protected domain consists of extensive lawns, meadows, forests and water features. Lodg'ing will set up beautiful lodge tents on the grounds of the castle campsite this summer. The lodges are 20-24 m2 and are for max. 4 persons. The comfortable furnishings include tasty French-made mattresses, bed linen, bamboo furniture, sun lighting, power point (mobile phones, tablets, electric bicycles) and a well-equipped outdoor kitchen.
