Top 10 best amusement parks in France

Family vacations require exciting days out, and a theme park excursion is always a success, so we've compiled a list of the top theme parks in France to visit with the whole family on your next vacation.

There are many different sorts of wonderful theme parks in France, including French theme parks with a vast range of exciting rides and enjoyable activities to enjoy with your favourite characters, as well as waterparks with massive jetties and breath-taking waterslides.

1. Disneyland® Paris

Disneyland Paris, Disney's only theme park in Europe, is only two and a half hours from the port in Le Havre and around three hours from Caen.

The park is massive - roughly one-fifth the size of Paris - and has so many rides that everyone in the family will find something they like.

You may visit all of the park's worlds, including Main Street U.S.A.®, Fantasyland, Frontierland, Adventureland, and Discoveryland. And ride well-known attractions such as Space Mountain (now Star Wars Hyperspace Mountain), Pirates of the Caribbean, and Big Thunder Mountain. Disneyland is located in the city of Marne-la-Vallée in France. Villages Nature Paris is a Center Parcs holiday park where you can relax and is only 15 minutes away from Disneyland Paris.

2. Futuroscope

There are around forty attractions to uncover, each more incredible than the one before it, leading you on fantastic voyages beyond the stars. Destination Mars, a space-themed rollercoaster where you may assess your preparedness for a voyage to the Red Planet, has been added for 2020.

There are several experiences in store for both youngsters and adults. Relive the legendary astronaut's space voyage 400 kilometres above the Earth with the Through Thomas Pesquet's Eyes attraction. Follow in the footsteps of Jules Verne on a round-the-world voyage aboard the Extraordinary Journey and become a birdman with your feet dangling in the air.

3. Parc Astérix

The Parc Astérix is a theme park based on the comic books Astérix and Obelix, with around 17 attractions inspired by them. The Ultimate Theme Park for Genuine Astérix and Obelix Enthusiasts! The amusement park has 42 attractions, eight of which are roller coasters. For example, ride the reverse rollercoaster Oziris, or if you want to stay on the ground, watch one of the various acts, such as a dolphin performance, a stunt show, or a Roman army performance. If you wish to visit the park or Paris, Camping Campix Paris is the right campground. Campix Paris has a variety of lodging options, ranging from pitches to bungalows and mobile homes. You will find calm in a natural setting here.

4. Walt Disney Studios Park at Disneyland Paris in Marne-la-Vallée

Walt Disney Studios Park, the resort's second park, is significantly smaller than Disneyland Park. It features attractions based on the films "Cars," "Ratatouille," and "Toy Story," as well as its version of The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror. A new Avengers Campus is slated to open in 2022, and it will include a Spider-Man Web Slingers attraction as well as an Iron Man makeover of the Rock 'n' Roller Coaster. It offers several compelling reasons to come, but due to its size and the number of things to see and do, Walt Disney Studios Park can be completed in roughly half a day (as opposed to the full day needed to fully appreciate Disneyland Park).

5. Vulcania

Vulcania is a unique theme park in that it is located deep in the heart of the Auvergne, in a strange cone-shaped edifice, with the majority of the attractions concealed beneath. The park investigates the nearby volcanoes that produced the gorgeous environment many years ago, with unexpected elements like geysers and a plethora of water sports. It's not just entertaining, but it's also quietly instructive, with interactive exhibits that will help you comprehend the planet and all of its amazing dynamics.

6. Terra Botanica

While a plant-life theme park may seem like an unexpected notion for a French theme park, Terra Botanica is a terrific, interesting day out among magnificent vegetation with a genuinely lively mood. From stepping through the entrance of the ogre's skull to the elves that ride bicycles throughout the park, Terra Botanica has a very distinct sense of enjoyment.

7. Festyland

This medieval theme park, located just outside Caen, is ideal for young children. Festyland is a terrific day out on a smaller scale than the larger theme parks, with rollercoasters, waterslides, a medieval castle, and even a 3D theatre. With attractions centred on William the Conqueror and the Battle of Hastings, the Belle Epoque, and other topics, youngsters may even learn something while having fun. In the summer, there are also live events portraying pirates, Vikings, and dinosaurs!

8. Nausicaá

Nausicaá is more than just a sea life museum and aquarium in Boulogne. It has 34,000 critters that bob about in 4.5 million litres of water, recreating all of the world's oceans. There is plenty of pleasure and information, as well as plenty of aquatic surprises. Furthermore, it is the simplest park on this list to visit by boat from the United Kingdom, making it a possible day trip for any U.K. national without the need to reserve a hotel, or simply a nice start to a holiday in France.

9. Le Puy du Fou

Perhaps Europe's greatest theme park. Attractions and roller coasters should not be considered in Le Puy du Fou. This theme park is devoted entirely to historical acts and shows. History is fundamental to this theme park, and it is what distinguishes it from other sorts of parks. Even though the park is slightly different from other parks, you are certain to have a good time.

Camping La Breteche - Oléla features a variety of rooms and is roughly a 7-minute drive from the park. To check rates and availability, go to Camping La Breteche - Oléla.

10. La Mer De Sable

La Mer de Sable is a French family theme park that is a "neighbour" of Parc Astérix — the distance between them is only 6 kilometres as the crow flies. The park is situated in the middle of the Ermenonville forest, approximately 60 kilometres northwest of Paris. It is another fun park that your youngsters will like. They will not only have a great time here, but they will also learn something. In addition to carousels, roller coasters, and other attractions, visitors can visit a small farm or the Wild West.
