The Era Yerla campsite is located just outside the town of Arties. The centre Arties is a short stroll. Arties is halfway between Vielha (capital of the Aran Valley, 7km) and the Baqueira Beret Ski Station (ski-resort with 146km of ski-slopes, 7km). Best access is from the town of Lleida on the N-230 road to the town of Vielha. Era Yerla offers cute wooden chalets and mobile homes in a wonderful mountainous setting as well as an outdoor heated pool (during the summer months) and a cafeteria.

Cauterets on the edge of the Parc National des Pyrénées is tucked away in the Val de Jeret on one side and the Cirque de Lys on the other side. The trick for winter camping is to choose a beautiful location, rent a chalet, mobile home or park your motorhome of caravan and enjoy the views, the scents, happy people and loads of snow. With a little luck, you’ll be in the heart of a snowstorm and wake up with a nice pack of powder snow. The Eden de la Vanoise camping is located in Landry at the foot of the La Plagne ski area. The ski lifts in the villages of Les Coches and Montchavin are 8min by car or hop on the local ski bus. The camping rents pitches, mobile homes and comfortable bungalows. In winter, after a day of skiing, you can relax in the water of the swimming pool (heated to 30-32 degrees) and do your laps while facing the snow-capped mountains. In Landry on Sunday-night? La Roulotte Foodtruck serves a great pulled-pork sandwich from a retro silver & black caravan.

CAMPING VÉNOSC – CAMPING LES 2 ALPES

Ecological camping Le Champ du Moulin has obtained both the Green Key and Camping Quality labels confirming their intent to reduce their environmental footprint. At the grocery, the bar and the restaurant the camping uses local and organic food to prepare their homemade meals and dishes. The cable car of Vénosc is a mere 400m walk from the campsite and provides direct access to the lifts and 230km of slopes of the Les 2 Alpes ski station. Caravaneige Le Champ du Moulin rents pitches, chalets, mobile homes, apartments and Trigano CIAT bungalows tents. Lunch or dining out? Restaurant Le Dolilou in Vénosc is a rustic family restaurant where host Sylvain will serve you simple but tasty dishes in their vaulted room which is typical of the old buildings in this region.

TCS Camping St. Moritz is situated at 1800m on the large meadow between St. Moritz lake and the Champfèr lake. The SMBB cable car is 600m from the camping and brings you up into the Corviglia ski-area. 10 minutes by car or ski-bus bring you to the Corvatsch (Sils Maria) ski area and the Diavolezza glacier is roughly 30min by car. Next door Ristorante Peppino's serves great Italian food. Pasta doesn’t hurt after a good day on the slopes!

Okay, Landal Greenparks Holiday Park is not a camping, but because of its great and fine cottages we did not want to pass by this one. Be ready for some action. If not on the slopes, then surely in the indoor swimming pool (with paddling pool) or on the go-karting course. The Landal resort rents cottages from 4-16p, some with sauna and/or solarium. At the entrance of the park you’ll find the 8-seater nr.5 Poppenberg chairlift that will sweep you right into the heart of the ski area. Skiliftkarussell Winterberg has 28km of slopes and 29 lifts. Looking for a pitch? Campingplatz Winterberg and Campingpark Hochsauerland have overall good scores and are similarly close to the ski lifts. If Italian food is you your thing, book a table at Da Salvatore.

CAMPING NASSFELD

Nassfeld is Carinthia’s largest, most modern and varied ski region. The 110kms of well-prepared pistes with a view on the Carnic Alps are well suited for families with kids. The Nassfeld ski area is only a short drive (8km) from the Schluga campsite. You can reach the "Millenium Express" in about 10 mins using the courtesy ski bus which is free of charge. Do you like a bit of luxury or something special? The camping rents deluxe mobile homes or quirky barrels. A super wellness, spa and indoor pool await after a day on the slopes. 

CAMPING ZILLERTAL ARENA

SALZBURGERLAND | CAMPING ALMENWELT LOFER

Lofer is located on the border of Tyrol and Salzburgerland and its family ski area Almenwelt Lofer is part of the Natura 2000 Klemmerich nature reserve. The ski area has 10 lifts including 2 child-safe 8-seater chairlifts (unique in the world!). The camping rents lovely old wooden chalets, modern cabins and airy pitches and boasts a modern wellness area with sauna and steambath. Kids will love the choice of pizza’s in the Grubhof Restaurant.

KOBARID | CAMPING KANIN | CAMPING SELLA NEVEA

The Kanin Ski Centre in Bovec is the highest ski centre in Slovenia (2,300 m). The cable-car takes you to the altitude of 2,202 m with a dramatic panorama overlooking the Alps and the Adriatic Sea. Kanin is connected with Sella Nevea on the Italian side and lunch in the Italian village should definitely be on your agenda (try Pizzeria Montasio). Camping/Kamp Koren in Kobarid is 20min away from the cable car in Bovec. Koren Campsite was one of the first Slovene campsite to be awarded the Ecolabel, the European certificate for ecotourism. The camping is located in the midst of the beautiful Soča Valley. It rents pitches, comfortable eco chalets and if you prefer glamping, you can stay in a glamorous wooden 2p. chalet called Lilija in which innovative design meets functionality. Pizzeria Soča is within walking distance and a good place to wind down.

GIANT MOUNTAINS | SPINDLERUV MLYN

The camping is located in a picturesque valley on the back of the Kozí Hřbety ridge in the Giant Mountains (Krkonošský/Karkonosze Národní park). AQUA Park Špindlerův Mlýn offers whirlpools, saunas, steam saunas and a large pool with slides. The Aquapark is open all year round is located in the vicinity of the Autokemp. Gallery Restaurant Orange le Moon is located in the village and serves great steaks and tasty wines in a lively, contemporary ambiance. 

MALOPOLSKI | CAMPING ZAKOPANE

Camping Pod Krokwią (former nr. 97) | Ski campsite Kasprowy Wierch | Skiing in the Tatra Mountains

Pod Krokwią is located in the southern part of Zakopane, on the edge of the Tatra National Park, right next to the complex of the most beautiful ski jumps in Europe. The camping which offers pitches, chalets and rooms offering a great base for skiers and hikers. There is a sports complex with an indoor swimming pool, tennis courts, cross-country trails and an ice rink (in winter) near the camping. The Kaprowy Wierch ski area (better known as Zakopane) reaches 2000m at its top and offers a variety of slopes and trails. A bonus when visiting Zakopane is that you’ll most probably travel via Krakow, one of the prettiest and best-conserved medieval cities in Europe.
