World Cup 2026

The 2026 FIFA World Cup will be held in North America (USA - Canada - Mexico) from June 11 to July 19, 2026 and will be played in the following cities: Atlanta, Boston, Dallas, Houston, Kansas City, Los Angeles, Miami, New York/NJ, Philadelphia, San Francisco Bay Area, Seattle, Toronto, Vancouver, Mexico City, Monterrey, Guadalajara.

The football (soccer) tournament has a new format. Forty-eight countries will participate, including the three host countries. They are divided into 12 groups of four teams, with the first two and the eight best thirds qualifying for the sixteenth finals. From this stage, play will follow the knockout system: the eighth finals will follow, then the quarter-finals, then the semifinals, the match for third place (consolation finals) and the final.

The 48 countries will be divided into four pots. The host countries and the nine countries with the highest position in the FIFA world rankings will be placed in pot 1. The remaining pots will also be assigned based on the FIFA world rankings.

• New Zealand (OFC region)
• Iran (AFC region) 
• Argentina (CONMEBOL region) with star player Lionel Messi likely to play his 6th FIFA World Cup

The European Qualifiers for the 2026 FIFA World Cup will run from March to November 2025, with the play-offs for the remaining finals places taking place in March 2026.

The tournament is played in 16 cities across the 3 hosting countries. Here’s an overview of the stadiums are nearby campgrounds, RV sites and glamping spots.

Between now (the time we are writing this blog) and the start date of the tournament, pop-up (temporary) campgrounds such as the Dutch Oranjecamping may open near the stadiums. As soon as we know more about that, we will update this blog.

The MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford (New Jersey) will host the final on July 19. The stadium, home of New York Giants and New York Jets (NFL), has a capacity of 82,500 and is located at the Meadowlands Sports Complex, about 9 miles west of Manhattan.
