There are a number of campings in the area, but Camping Le Vieux Port is the one you want to settle into for an unforgettable holiday in Les Landes. It is located in Messanges, Nouvelle Aquitaine, the largest wine region of France. The Silver Coast of the Atlantic Ocean is just a stone’s throw from the campsite, offering luxurious comfort surrounded by dunes, a 30-hectare pine forest, and the biggest entertainment and aquatic area you can appreciate. Messanges is just one of many charming typical villages in the region, so if you are keen on exploring the surroundings, you will definitely be more than stunned. Whether you want to relax and read a book in the shade of a pine tree, or you are an active vacationer, young or old, Le Vieux Port will not leave you indifferent.

There are numerous options for accommodation well shaded by pines in the heart of Landes to suit any budget or desire. You name it, they’ve got it; mobile homes, wooden chalets, western-style tents shaped like wagons, lodges, cabins on stilts, forest chalets, equipped glamping tents, camper van park with tent pitch, and a separate premium sector. Most of the options are fully equipped with kitchen utensils and other necessities, separate bathrooms, and toilets. The camping has its own laundrette with washing machines, dryers, and irons. The camping is equipped, so you don’t even have to leave the venue if you don’t want to. They have a restaurant offering all sorts of meals, from seafood to pizza, from coffee to delicious lemonades and cocktails for the evening. There is a well-stocked supermarket for your everyday needs. However, if you decide to wander around, La Hitillère is one of the closest, well-rated restaurants, only 7 minutes away from the site.

Fancy a dinner at the seaside? Côté Sable (4 km) is the setting you are looking for. What is better for local shopping than a market? The Messanges market takes place every Wednesday and Friday morning. When staying in Aquitaine, you must try some of the local wine. The closest place to do so is the Bergerie des Vignerons de Tursan (2 km).

When everything in the camping is already experienced, explore the Atlantic coast! Golden sandy beaches stretch for hundreds of kilometres, but the closest one worth visiting is Soustons Plage (6 km). Aquitaine is famous for its long and picturesque hiking trails through the vast pine forests, so get ready for the walking and cycling trips of your life. The place is perfect for watersports enthusiasts and beginners. Only 15 minutes' walk from the campsite is the Messanges Surf School, with experienced instructors. Hossegor is a legendary world-class surfing spot with beautiful local nature and architecture, only 20 km away from Le Vieux Port. 

Less than 3 km from the site lies one of the leading Landes seaside resorts, Vieux-Boucau-Les-Bains. Biarritz (77 km) and Bayonne (57 km) are perfect for keen sightseers and history enthusiasts. For an even more memorable visit to the area, take a look at Dax (34 km). If the camping water complex at the camping is not enough, there is a water park called "Atlantic Park" in Seignosse (15 km), Adrénaline Park (7 km), Dinosaur Park next to the beautiful and calm Soustons lake (9 km), and Pop Corn Labyrinth (13 km).

The nearest international airports are Biarritz (77 km) and Pau (122 km). There are buses going from the airports to Dax, so keep in mind that you might have to change routes to reach Messanges.
