The RCN Laacher See campsite in Wassenach (Germany) is located by the Laacher See crater lake in the middle of the Volcanic Eifel conservation area. The volcanic crater is a terrific place to enjoy swimming, kayaking, and exploring by boat in summer. Camping lovers can enjoy pure relaxation in the peaceful landscape. If you are going with a group or have children, a pitch near the playground or terrace is a great choice. All of the campsite's pitches have electricity and sanitary facilities nearby.

The RCN Laacher See terrain covers seven hectares. The pitches are supplied with electricity and many of them also have a beautiful view of the lake. The trees and bushes offer shade where needed. There are two well-furnished sanitary facility buildings with baby rooms. There is a washing machine and dryer in each building too. Six people per pitch are allowed, plus children up to three years. An additional tent (max. 5 m2) can be placed free of charge. If you want to book a specific pitch, there is a preference supplement of € 30 per pitch.

Already settled in your camping pitch? Start exploring all the fun on the campsite. The RCN Laacher See team are ready to make sure there will be no boredom. Play and sports activities are organised for children of all ages, and there is something new to do for the whole family every day. There is an opportunity to play mini-golf. You can enjoy the sunbathing area on the crater lake or explore the surroundings on foot or by bicycle. In Fun 2 Dance, you can learn the coolest dance moves. If you are interested in history, you can go fossil hunting. The fossils in the fields of the parks have already been discovered, but they and fascinating minerals have been especially hidden again for young archaeologists to find. Sounds interesting? Come and experience it all! 

The camping is equipped, so you don’t even have to leave the venue if you don’t want to. There is a brasserie with a terrace, a bar and a cafe. However, if you decide to wander around, go to Vulkan Waldfrieden (5,6 km) or Bistro Route 61 (9, 3 km) restaurants.

Go to the fairytale Eltz castle (32 km). The castle is perched on a steep spur in a tributary valley of the Moselle between Koblenz and Cochem. It is more than 850 years old, having survived a turbulent history and war. The castle’s location in the Eltzer Forest is dazzling. The forest is a conservation area with a wide range of trails for nature lovers and hikers.

Take a daily trip to Koblenz (34 km). It may look like a small city, but it has a lot to offer. There are many picturesque squares and beautiful churches. An 11th-century old fortress reveals spectacular views of the city and the two rivers. 

The little town of Cochem (40 km) is loved by visitors. From the chairlift, you can admire phenomenal views of Chochem, the Moselle and the surroundings. You can also visit one of the most beautiful vantage points here, the Pinnerkreuz.

If you are ready for a little longer trip, visit the Eifel National Park (95 km). It is the 14th national park in Germany and has been a national park since January 1st, 2004. The area consists of approximately 10,700 hectares of beautiful, expansive woodland and incredibly beautiful landscapes. 

Go to Euskirchen Thermal Baths (63 km). When the tourists visit the Eifel national park, they are usually occupied with exploring, hiking or mountain biking, but if you want a bit of real relaxation on your holiday you cannot miss the Euskirchen Thermal Baths. It is a wellness centre with a nice tropical atmosphere and quality relaxation is guaranteed.
