Camping Bakkum is located in the beautiful North Holland town of Castricum. Cosy and well-equipped holiday rentals are surrounded by the forest and dunes of North Holland Dune Reserve. The campsite is located just a stone’s throw away from Castricum Beach. There is a lovely track through the dunes leading to the sandy beach and the salty North Sea. Young and old will enjoy the pump track for BMX and skateboards. Those keen on keeping their shape during the holidays are welcome in the fitness room.

You will always find a company to stop by the tennis or paddle courts. The little ones will be fascinated by the playground and petting zoo with rabbits, goats, and chickens. The camping has its own cinema, so don’t forget to bring popcorn! Those seeking more entertainment will find spectacular shows in an open-air theatre, "De Pan."

The middle of the campsite is dedicated to the convivial meeting square. Come for a cappuccino or a glass of fine wine. Their extensive menu offers real Italian pasta, a juicy steak, fresh fish, a quick snack, or fried chicken. Do not worry, vegetarians, you are taken care of as well! The campsite also has a well-stocked supermarket on the premises.

Those seeking exclusive tastes will definitely enjoy the variety of restaurants surrounding the holiday village. If you are looking for a place with stunning sea views, head to Beach Pavilion Zeezicht, located only 2 kilometres away from the campsite. They offer fresh seafood and European specialities along with superb vegetarian and vegan options. Besides, the place is perfect for an evening getaway and a couple of beers. Restaurant Het Ruiterhuys (3 km) is a perfect place for Dutch cuisine and a good relaxing afternoon on a cosy terrace.

Not only nature will enchant you here. The cultural and historical heritage in the region is super interesting and worth exploring. Only 750 metres from the camping village you will find Bezoekerscentrum De Hoep (750 m), a starting point in discovering the North Holland Natural Reserve.

Visit the beautiful city of Haarlem (28 km) and explore the Teylers Museum and the Frans Hals Museum. You will be fascinated by the beauty and majesty of St. Bavo Church in Haarlem. The capital city of Amsterdam is just 38 kilometres away and opens up the famous Rijksmuseum, Van Gogh Museum, and Anne Frank House. 

Explore the culture and visit small villages: De Rijp (27 km), Kolhorn (43 km), and Schoorl (25 km). And do not miss the West Frisian, a market in the town of Schagen (35 km). If you are ready for a little longer trip, head to the Island of Texel (71 km) and spend some time wandering around the Lighthouse Texel and visiting the Natural Museum Ecomare. Pack your lunch and go for a good walk in the scenic National Park Dunes of Texel.
