Come to Camping Klein Vaarwater and immerse yourself in a unique camping experience. Enjoy the area’s vast dunes, the endless Oerd where you walk or cycle, the light from the lighthouse over the island, endless walks along the beach and watch the sunset. At the park you can choose from a wide range of bungalows and caravans. Play paddle, tennis, bowling, or keep fit in the fitness area even on holiday. Relax by the swimming pool and simply enjoy the moment. 

The campsite offers different types of accommodation to match the most demanding guests.

Bungalows. All bungalows are detached and have a south-facing terrace so that you can optimally enjoy the sun. You can also enjoy the wellness facilities at our spacious bungalows. 

Holiday villas. Holidays are often all about rest, relaxation and new experiences. Such a new experience can be to stay in a luxurious and fully equipped holiday villa. All the trimmings and as an extra a sauna and a bubble bath or private swimming pool. 

Wellness farm. Do you really want to relax completely in Ameland? Then a wellness farm is ideal for you. Enjoy the excellent wellness facilities such as a sauna or whirlpool or refresh in the indoor swimming pool.

Pitches. If you prefer classic camping, choose a pitch suitable for a tent, caravan or motorhome. The pitches have electricity connection and water drainage.

The campsite has good sanitary facilities. You can shower for free in the toilet blocks. There are washing machines and dryers in a central location, which can be used (for a fee). 

For holidaymakers who love glamping, Camping Klein Vaarwater, in collaboration with Villatent, offers Nomad, Ranger and Cottage glamping tents. The 6p Nomad, 6p Ranger and 6p Cottage Villatents on Ameland are fully equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay, including a fully equipped kitchen, a Nespresso coffee machine and 2m-long beds. The Nomad and Cottage tents also have a hammock and an Outdoor-Chef gas barbecue.

Klein Vaarwater has a beautiful new central building with facilities such as an indoor swimming pool, Indoor Play Paradise, fitness, bowling, supermarket, restaurant, cafeteria and Front Office for welcoming our guests.

The camping is equipped, so you don’t even have to leave the venue if you don’t want to. A Restaurant de Huyskamer can be found in the central building on the left. There is also a cafeteria and takeaway option. Thus, you do not have to leave the park for your daily shopping. Holiday park Klein Vaarwater has a SPAR Enjoy supermarket.

If you decide to step out of the campsite, go to Restaurant De Piraat (3,6 km), Frankie‘s Restaurant Steaks & More (3,5 km), or Nes Cafe (3,3 km).

Gemeente Ameland (11 km)

Ameland, also known as the "Wadden Diamond," won the Quality Coast Award in 2009 for its natural beauty and tranquility. The nature reserves of De Hôn and Het Oerd are home to incredible flora and fauna, and the island has a long history of whaling and merchant shipping. Ameland, with its 56-meter-high lighthouse and picturesque villages and farms, is a must-see. Try some of the island's culinary specialties, such as rye bread, farm cheese, mustard, and catfish. A Nobeltje is a shot of Ameland's authentic liqueur.

The lighthouse of Ameland 

The Ameland red and white striped lighthouse is the highest structure on the island. This beautiful tower is visible from all over the island and is thus one of Ameland's highlights. The Bornrif (the lighthouse's name) was built in 1880 in Hollum to protect ships from the dangerous sandbanks of the Wadden Islands.

Natuurcentrum museum

If you want to learn more about the Wadden Islands, you should visit the 'natuurcentrum'. This lovely museum contains a number of well-explained exhibitions, making it one of the best things to do in Ameland for both young and old. For example, there are exhibitions about the animals that live on the island, aquariums with big and small fishes, seahorses, and even small sharks that navigate the seas around the Wadden Islands, and an informative film about how the Wadden Islands were formed and how men are assisting them.
